Colegio Europeo Almazán is a private independent school outside the state direct grant system. The school was founded in 1960 in a chalet close to its present day site.
In 2001 the school changed owners, head teacher and name, becoming known as Colegio Europeo Almazán with the idea of fusing the necessary modernization whilst at the same time maintaining all the positive aspects of the former centre. Colegio Europeo Almazán is part of a group of schools which includes Colegio Base and Colegio Ausias March. These schools share a set of fundamental ideas which are laid out in our educational project. The school has a maximum of 450 pupils on its school roll. It provides a quality education for pupils from the age of one until the pre university years of baccalaureate at 18 years of age. |

The school is located in one of the best areas of Madrid with adequate installations for its size. It is a friendly, transparent school, whose aim is to educate pupils in the broadest sense of the word, with immersion courses in English and high academic standards.
The school defines itself as being liberal, co-educational, independent and without any religious affiliations. It is independent in that it holds no political stance nor is the education offered aimed at any one cultural or professional group. Our aim is to continue and deepen the philosophy of a liberal education rejecting authoritarism, dogmatism and hierarchy amongst our pupils depending on their academic results. We advocate basic values such as mutual respect, collaboration, self control, solidarity and an awareness of the need to protect the environment.
